Literature Text
Entranced and encumbered, we waltz;
locked in a lucid dream, daring to fly.
A pale pearl orb floats, frigid,
soaking up the stars. The misplaced moon
begs to be returned -- raw,
impassive. I whisper whimsy,
treading thoughts, cracked glass, carefully.

Less Than Lost
I tried finding it
in the hips of a
flight attendant
on the way to Buffalo.
I tried finding it
in the obscene
identical
rows of houses
outside Chicago.
In the petal

who do not
want me,
in the eyes of a
thousand hungry
dogs
older than I'll ever be.
In the feather rain
falling gentle,
consistent.
In fields of indian corn
unharvested

On the backs of
freight trains, in

I searched for it
in the flat, coastal

I searched for it in the

and in the ridges
of my nails,

here.

but filled with gold,

you caught me sneaking a snapshot

I have a love/hate relationship with alliteration. I love hearing it, and I love when it happens accidentally, but I can't purposefully alliterate anything worth crap. So. Sorry about the horrendous thing you just read.

Um. Not crap at all. I can see where maybe you would have chosen different words in a couple of places for the sake of flow...but honestly, I really love this. It's enigmatic and dark.
